Risk & Identity
Shield scores the money coming in, identity checks verify where the money goes out.
Two questions sit around every payment. Who is paying you, and is the payment what it claims to be? And who are you about to pay, and is that destination really theirs? Shield answers the first, on every live payment, without a call from you. The identity checks answer the second, when you call them before a payout.

One runs on its own, the other when you call it
Shield reads every live payment whether or not you have configured it; what you configure is how strict it is. The identity checks run only when you call them. Validating an IBAN and identifying a mobile number need the Growth, Scale or Enterprise plan; checking the name on a wallet works on every plan.
